Honda had intended on competing with American manufacturers, but because of the popularity of the companies small bikes, Honda became known in the U.S. Honda first gained popularity when employees were seen riding Honda Super Cub scooters at the companies San Francisco base of operations in the early 1960’s. Honda motorbikes are known for reliability, ease of ridership, and an excellent horsepower-to-weight ratio.
